How to use the Tag engine/Drop engine sensitivity?

To every email message processed, Spam Guardian assigns a score. The score increases with the probability of that email to be spam.

The first score is called the Tag engine sensitivity. Emails that score higher than this level are tagged. You can setup the tag keyword in the Spam message subject tag field.

The second score is called the Drop engine sensitivity. Emails that score higher than this level are dropped at the server level.

If you want all emails to be dropped, you can setup the tag score equal to the drop score.

Let's suppose that an email score 5.5 points.

1. With the following settings:

  • Tag engine sensitivity = 6

  • Drop engine sensitivity = 9

the email is not even tagged.

2. With the following settings:

  • Tag engine sensitivity = 5

  • Drop engine sensitivity = 9

the email is tagged as spam.

3. With the following settings:

  • Tag engine sensitivity = 4

  • Drop engine sensitivity = 5

the email is dropped.
